But Grand Place is not all sugar and honey of course, in the evening you can always see tourists annoyed by dunked human like pedestrians, people throwing bottles around and very loud monologs told by the same humanoids. All that might sound a bit out of place but the truth is I love Grand Place and I would not change it one bit.
If you are superstitious you can go to the woman in bronze and touch her body for good luck – some say. I am so I went along with the gag. Maneken Pis – the little boy that was punished by his father to pipi in the street half necked! Is not far from the Grand Place, in fact there is a street exiting the Grand Place directly to the little toddler.
Another street exiting the Grand Place is called “Rue du Pita” and it’s an excellent snack option – it’s mostly Greek and Turk, I personally like GREEK food, it’s the ultimate food for me, any ladies out there if you want me around, read about greek food I’ll fall like leaves in autumn ?.
“Rue du Pita” is the place where we always go if we feel like eating quality, reasonable priced food, plus the guys serving here seem to know all the languages in the world – respect!
But Grand Place of Brussels is a treasure hunt as well, all the good beer bars are not in the middle just waiting to be filled up, in fact the ones that are seen with the naked eye are mostly empty. There are small roads, shadowy, leading to the great bars of Brussels everywhere, exiting the Grand Place 10 meters; than you take a left; and a right and you go down the stares and Waw, good people, fun, 20 million beers, music. That is the Grand Place of Brussels, and this is why Grand Place will never be decorated with the same old decorations we’ve used last year like Amsterdam for example…Grand Place is different, Grand Place is GRAND (BIG)
